Isparta City Guide
General Information
Isparta is located in Turkey’s Mediterranean Region, known as part of the “Lake District” (Göller Yöresi). As of 2024, its population is around 450,000. The city is famously called the “City of Roses” due to its worldwide reputation for rose cultivation and rose oil production.
Historically, Isparta has been home to many civilizations including the Phrygians, Lydians, Persians, Romans, Byzantines, Seljuks, and Ottomans. Today, Isparta is recognized for its natural beauty, cultural heritage, and higher education institutions, notably Süleyman Demirel University, which adds to its youthful and dynamic population.
Surrounded by the Taurus Mountains, Isparta is home to many natural lakes, especially Eğirdir Lake and Kovada Lake. Its climate is a transition between Mediterranean and continental.

Bus Terminal
The Isparta Intercity Bus Terminal is located near the city center and provides regular services to Antalya, Konya, Ankara, Izmir, and Istanbul. Facilities include ticket offices, restaurants, lounges, and minibuses to districts.
